Acquisition of Axispoint Health Platform Business

Medecision (Dallas, TX) announced that it has acquired over 50 customers from AxisPoint Health (Denver, CO), including assumption of clients currently using the former McKesson CCMS, VITAL and AXIS Platforms, as well as ongoing service and support.

  1. What are the details of the acquisition?

    Medecision has acquired 58 client contracts from AxisPoint Health which includes those currently using the CCMS and AXIS Platforms, as well as ongoing service and support.

    The acquisition makes Medecision the largest independent provider of care management platforms and applications in the United States, now supporting more than 50 million lives for more than 100 of the nation’s leading health plans and providers.

    Acquiring AxisPoint Health’s platform business expands Medecision’s stronghold in the health plan market for population health and care management. In fact, following the acquisition, Medecision is now the largest privately held care management company in the US, covering over 50 million lives.

    Bolstering Medecision’s 30 years of experience in the health plan space, the acquisition creates the largest privately held population health and care management company, supporting over 100 health plans and provider organizations that manage care for 50 million lives.

    AxisPoint Heath customers will now have access to the powerful Aerial Platform and over 15 applications which include the critical enhancements and new functionality required to modernize their care management programs.


  7. What will happen to AxisPoint Health’s current platform clients?

    Medecision welcomes these new clients into our community of existing clients and population health management leaders. Medecision will work to transition these clients over to the Aerial™ platform, which operates on a platform-plus-applications architecture.

    The platform is the industry-leading open source model that provides HIE functionality, API integration capabilities and therefore, lower costs coupled with rapid data and system integration proficiencies. This allows clients to choose the applications which most closely meet their business needs, strategic imperatives and goals.
