Tommy Duncan is a healthcare entrepreneur and digital health leader with a passion for improving the healthcare system and health outcomes for underserved and at-risk populations. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jetdoc, a healthcare application providing virtual health video visits for insured and uninsured individuals alike.
He previously founded Care Compensation Specialists, a company dedicated to supporting the enrollment of those eligible for Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Aged, Blind, or Disabled (ABD), or Supplementary Security Income (SSI). His company was later purchased by a top revenue cycle management firm, where he recovered over $700 million in previously undiscovered revenue for the hospitals he serviced. He also founded a leading Medicaid managed care company plan serving 50,000 enrollees and positioned it for sale to CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield.
Tommy began his healthcare career at a small community-based hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he built a stellar interdisciplinary team and created a multi-specialty clinic serving over 10,000 patients, and a 68-bed mental health unit serving primarily uninsured patients. Building on his success serving the uninsured, he founded a company to serve the underinsured. By analyzing patient utilization patterns both with and without care management and personal coaching, he developed an approach to changing patients’ health behaviors through partnerships with their providers.
Tommy holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Florida A&M University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
